About the 6" Carbon Filter with Pre-Filter
This is VIVOSUN's 6-inch activated carbon filter, the canister that sits on the intake side of a 6-inch inline fan and strips odors and gaseous compounds out of the air before it leaves the tent. VIVOSUN rates it for a maximum airflow of 413 CFM, which leaves headroom above a 6-inch fan like the P6.
The bed is 38 mm of RC 412 Australian virgin charcoal at 1200+ IAV, a measure of how much the carbon can adsorb. Both sides of the bed are held by galvanized steel mesh with round holes, which opens up more of the surface for air to pass through, and the canister is lengthened for more contact time.
A detachable pre-filter cloth wraps the outside and catches dust before it reaches the carbon; VIVOSUN says it blocks 99% of particles. Because the cloth is separate from the canister, the carbon underneath stays cleaner for longer.
The flange and base are heavy-duty iron and they swap ends. Turning the canister around exposes fresh carbon to the airflow, which helps stretch its service life. Two hanging straps come in the box so you can hang the filter from the tent's top bars. The canister measures 8.85 × 8.85 × 15.75 inches and weighs 6.5 pounds.
